1. Understand Your Niche

It’s impossible to understate the importance of knowing and understanding who your niche. It’s worth spending time focusing on what your brand is all about, rather than try to be all things to all people. The best way to start doing this is to write a mission statement. Think about what you want to stand for and who you really are. Be very specific.

2. Be Consistent, and always strive for quality content

If you deliver high quality content, consistently, you will draw more organic traffic. Plus you will inspire people to share what you do and attract new readers that way. Stick to a pattern of how often you post content – is it once a day, for instance? Maybe, you need to make your updates weekly so try to do it on the same day each week. And, remember less is more. Always go for quality, not quantity.

Do the same for your newsletters, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram posts.

3. Use Other Channels To Grow

Whether you are a blogger or business, you will find using social media to direct people back to your site and keep you font of mind absolutely vital.

Remember you attract different people in different social media feeds, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. Meet them where they are and try to find ways to connect with them so they will follow you back. Read stories about how other successful bloggers increased their social media numbers.

5. Connect & Collaborate

Ok, so for those of you who are already up and running and you simply need to give a boost to your blog, then it’s time to start connecting with others and collaborating. Here at Women’s Love Tech, we collaborate with lots of sites including Stay At Home Mum and Women’s Agenda. We often share ideas and help promote one another.

6. Understand What’s Popular and Do More

Google Analytics is your friend and so is good data in general. It will help you understand and who your audience is, how often and when they go on your site and what they love most. So use the information wisely and keep serving up their favourite content.

Remember, Google Analytics is a powerful tool.

7.  Track Your Referral Traffic

You should also look closely at Google Analytics to help find out where your traffic is coming from. This is called Referral Traffic. Similar to before, you want to explore ways to encourage more referral traffic from the sources it has come from.  If you see a lot of people following you from Facebook then think about making more specially designed content from there. The same goes for Pinterest or Instagram.

8. Follow Similar Communities

Whatever area you are in, there is probably a community out there based around it already. So why not join in with them and what they are doing. Apart from anything you’ll probably enjoy mixing with like-minded people.

9. Ask Your Loyal Followers for Help

Look at your loyal followers and enlist their support. You may want to ask questions about what they’d like to see more of. Recently when I interviewed Steve Wozniak, I asked my audience what questions should I ask. To be honest, the best questions came from my audience. And, Steve Wozniak loved it, too.

So what are you waiting for? Connect with your audience NOW!
